Bodrum, the ancient Halikarnassos has always been popular in the history. This small fishing port, attracted many people for their summer holidays. The wonderful weather, nice scenery and the culture of town are the main attractions of Bodrum. However, I always remember Bodrum with its Romantic touch.

There is something so special about Bodrum, it is almost as if the time stops by when you are walking around the town center. All, you can see is people with a smiling face enjoying the calmness of Bodrum. For me Bodrum is the most romantic place in Turkey and many other places.

So many singers tell us that Bodrum is the capital of romance in Turkey and I agree totally. I can see happy couples enjoying their walks in nice promenades around the peninsula all day long. Many take their afternoon drinks in one of the many nice cafes and enjoy this calmness of Bodrum.

Many foreign nationalities now live in Bodrum Peninsula and enjoy this romantic resort for a few more extra months than the normal tourists.

I do hope that Bodrum do not change in the future and keep this unique atmosphere. As with many more reading about Bodrum and the nearby resorts. Bodrum face an increase in tourism each year. The new airport only 30 minutes away from town also helped many tour operators to start extra flights during the summer season.

This of course is great for local tourism and local businesses, however more tourism means, more construction and more units around they peninsula. Like myself, many worry about losing the sustainability of tourism and hope that romantic Bodrum will always be the same.
