How One Can Make America’s Hotels Healthier

A healthy hotel usually offers everything from super comfortable beds and top-notch fitness opportunities to great-tasting, nutritious food and beautiful interiors.

A guest can make his / her hotel room healthier by:
Choosing a hotel with non-smoking floors.  If it’s not possible to stay in a non-smoking hotel then you may ask whether the hotel provides non-smoking rooms.  You may also prefer to dine in a non-smoking hotel restaurant.
When you arrive at your hotel room, disinfect the bath with a disinfectant and wipe down the TV remove and telephone with antibacterial wet wipes or else wipe these down with disinfectant.
Bring and use your own bed sheets or else toss the hotel’s bed sheets, since if these are not properly cleaned, there might be dust mites.  You may also prefer to bring and use your own towels.
Avoid using re-usable glasses which are found at most hotel rooms and instead use plastic cups.  This may not be that much romantic but it is more hygienic!
You can buy healthy snacks to eat in your hotel room so that you will not overeat during lunch or dinner.  Food should be prepared using good food hygiene practices.  Healthy food options are a great way to spend a healthier stay in your hotel.
You may also enjoy attending a spa or gym at your hotel or close by for some relaxation time. Some companies even offer annual awards to hotels worldwide if the hotel’s surroundings and lifestyle are healthy by providing the above and giving healthier hotel cooking practices, providing balanced meals, decreasing saturated fat, sugar, salt and increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables.

Providing healthier alternatives to traditional dishes by using healthier cooking methods helps in the well being of the hotel.
