Hampton, Connecticut – Windham County
Hampton is one of the most beautiful towns in eastern Connecticut. This rural town covers an area of about
four miles in width, east to west, and about seven miles in length, north to south. Nestled in the southwest part of Windham County and a part of the Quiet Corner of Connecticut, Eastford and Pomfret to the north; Pomfret, Brooklyn and Canterbury to the east; Scotland to the south, and Chaplin to the west.
The rolling, natural landscape of this quiet town with locations of rising elevations in many areas that just
standout with majestic, commanding forms, allowing for an ever changing scenery. The beauty of these rising summits can leave you breathless and spell-bound, especially when seen for the first time.
The central village, on Hampton Hill, is an area that is full of historic beauty. The attractiveness and charm of this unique village still shows the lack of the busy life we are use to today, this village has a unique personality of it’s own.
With Rt 97 running north to south and Rt 6, east to west, gives this rural town easy access to The State Capital of Hartford, about an hours drive. Rt 6 is also a direct route that will connect to I – 395, which runs south to the Connecticut shoreline towns and north to Massachusetts. Come visit and see for yourself. This unique, quite country town is a place that with much to offer if you are looking for a place to call home in the country with unique historical characteristics.
Enloy the natural beauty that eastern Connecticut can provide. It is a part of New England with much history and a great place to call home, and visit.
