What to do in Leeds on Your Stag Weekend

Leeds is s city well known for its nightlife and has unsurprisingly become a popular destination for both stag and hen groups. It’s a big city with plenty to see and do during the day and almost as much to do in the evening as well. At the heart of West Yorkshire, this city is growing in popularity and pulling in visitors who come to Leeds for great shopping, food entertainment and night life. If you’re thinking about having a stag weekend in the north of England, you might want to consider rounding up the guys and going to Leeds.

How to get there

In terms of transport, Leeds is a hub of activity with plenty of trains coming in and out of the main Leeds City Station. With 17 platforms, next to London, Leeds is the biggest train station in the UK. It has a variety of direct lines to regions across the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle making it very easy to get to from lots of locations around the country. If you’re coming by car, the main motorways which link the city to the rest of the country are the M1 and the M62 that intersect just south east of the city.

What to do once you’re there

From high street to designer, Leeds is well known for its shopping. From independent boutiques to well known names, you won’t be short of places to spend your money whether you’re looking for gadgets, music or some new threads. The Victorian Quarter in Leeds is home to a host of arcades that has many independent shops as does the huge Corn Exchange, which also has market stalls as well as the permanent shops. For more main stream shopping you have a choice of shopping centres such as the St. John Centre and the White Rose Centre

Leeds has a range of activity centres not too far from the centre of the city so if you are looking for an action n packed weekend then Leeds will be able to offer you this. There are centres which offer paintballing, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, or you might fancy getting away from the rough and tumble and having a leisurely game of golf. All are available in Leeds.

What to do at night on your stag weekend

There are plenty of places to eat and drink at night in Leeds. From the Station you have your well known chain pubs such as Wetherspoons, only a short walk away from getting off the platform. The main areas for finding boozers are from Park Row and onto Greek Street which is home to a trendy area of wine bars and cocktail bars. Some names to look out for here are OK Karaoke, All Bar One and The Living Room.

As well as offering shopping, the Corn Exchange is very close to some popular clubs and pubs that can entertain you and the guys on your stag weekend.  The clubs here are more independent away from the chain style franchises but they are nonetheless still very popular.
